After a trade fair, most sales reps come home with a pocket full of business cards. Typing them into Salesforce is slow, so the cards sit in a drawer, and by the time the leads are entered, the conversation is cold.
Magic Snap in AI Engine turns a photo into Salesforce records. Photograph a business card, check what the AI read, and save it as a Lead or as an Account with a Contact. It works on a phone and on a desktop.
Not just business cards
Magic Snap reads more than cards. A shop sign, the lettering on a company van or a stand at a fair all identify a company. When you take a photo with the camera and allow location, the approximate location helps the AI pick the right company when names are similar.
No photo at all? Type a short description, for example "furniture manufacturers in Chelm, Poland", and Magic Snap searches the web and suggests up to five matching companies.
How it works
- Take a photo or pick one from the gallery.
- Add a note, typed or dictated, for example "Met at the fair, purchasing manager, wants a quote in Q3".
- Analyze. The AI reads the photo and fills in company and person fields: name, website, email, phone, address, country, industry, job title and more.
- Review. Magic Snap shows possible existing records in Salesforce, so you can add the person to an existing account instead of creating a duplicate. Edit any field.
- Save as a Lead, or as an Account with a Contact.
On save, Magic Snap creates the records, attaches the photo as a Salesforce File, writes the note summary into the description and creates a follow-up task due in three days when you added a note.
Company research built in
After a photo is analysed, Magic Snap researches the company on the web and shows an AI Company Research card. It contains:
- a company profile with an assessment of how well the company fits your company's playbook,
- recommendations, publicly listed contact people, likely competitors and risk signals,
- suggested follow-up tasks, which you can tick or untick before saving.
It also fills in company phone, email and address fields that are still empty, from officially published details. It never overwrites what is already there.
Instead of a bare name and phone number, the rep gets a qualified lead with context, ready for the first call.
Snap a whole stack in a row
For the pile of cards after a fair, use the queue. Analyse a card, click Add to queue & snap next, and move on to the next one. When you are done, review the queue and click Save all as Leads. Leads saved in bulk skip research and suggested tasks; open any row to review and save it on its own with the full research.
Works with your Salesforce rules
Magic Snap creates standard Salesforce records, so your rules still apply:
- Permissions. Users need permission to create the records Magic Snap saves. Fields they cannot edit stay empty.
- Required fields and validation rules. If your org requires fields Magic Snap could not fill, they appear before saving.
- Duplicate rules. Salesforce duplicate matching runs as usual, and the user can pick the existing record instead.
What is sent to the AI provider
A photo cannot be masked: a business card shows a name, phone number and address as an image. The photo, the note and, if allowed, the approximate location are sent to your AI provider for analysis. The note is checked for patterns such as email addresses and card numbers, which are masked. Company research sends the company name, website and city to the provider's web search. AI Engine works with your own OpenAI, Anthropic Claude or Azure OpenAI account, so the data goes to the provider your company chose.
Tips for better results
- Shoot straight and in good light. A sharp, flat, well-lit photo gives the best result.
- Always add a note. It becomes the follow-up task and gives the next conversation context.
- Check before saving. The AI can misread a blurry card; a quick review keeps your CRM clean.
- Put it on the phone. An admin can add Magic Snap as a tab in the Salesforce mobile app, so reps can capture leads right at the stand.
Summary
- Photograph a business card, sign or van, or describe a company, and turn it into a Lead or an Account with a Contact.
- Magic Snap researches the company, fills empty fields and suggests follow-up tasks.
- A queue saves a whole stack of cards as Leads in one go.
- Salesforce permissions, required fields and duplicate rules still apply.
