Add components to pages

Place the Sales Agent chat, AI Score card, Magic Snap and Activity Monitor components on Lightning pages, in the utility bar and on mobile.

Installing AI Engine does not add anything to your pages. You place the components yourself in Lightning App Builder. This article lists each component, where it can go and how to add it.

The components#

Component (as listed in App Builder) What it is Where it can go
salesagent Sales Agent chat with the actions bar Record pages, app pages, the utility bar, a Lightning tab
aiScoreCard AI Score card: score, label, reason, recommendation Lead and Opportunity record pages
Magic Snap (magicSnap) Photo to Lead or Account + Contact App pages, the Home page, record pages, a Lightning tab
aiActivityMonitor AI usage dashboard for admins App pages, a Lightning tab

The admin panel is already available as the Ai Agent Admin Setup tab and includes the Activity Monitor, so you only need aiActivityMonitor if you want the dashboard somewhere else.

Add the chat to a record page#

  1. Open a record, for example an Account, and click the gear icon → Edit Page.
  2. Find salesagent under Custom - Managed in the component list and drag it onto the page. A side column or its own tab on the page works best, because answers can contain tables and charts.
  3. Click Save, then Activation, and assign the page as the org default or to the apps, record types and profiles you want.
  4. Repeat for every object where users should have the chat: typically Account, Contact, Lead and Opportunity, plus any custom object you enabled in Agent Objects.

On a record page the chat knows the current record and shows the record actions. The object must also be active in Agent Objects, otherwise the chat shows "Object not enabled for AI Agent".

Add the chat to the utility bar#

The utility bar makes the chat available on every page of an app, including Home. When the user is on a record page, the chat in the utility bar picks up that record.

  1. Go to Setup → App Manager, find your Lightning app (for example Sales) and click Edit.
  2. Open Utility Items, click Add Utility Item and choose salesagent.
  3. Set a label such as "AI Engine", adjust the panel width and height if you like, and save.

Opened without a record, the chat answers questions about your data and, if you have created global prompt templates, shows only the Actions menu with those templates, because the built-in actions need a record.

Add the AI Score card#

  1. Edit a Lead record page in App Builder and drag aiScoreCard onto it.
  2. If the component's Object API Name property is empty, enter Lead (or Opportunity on an Opportunity page).
  3. Save and activate.
  4. Repeat for Opportunity.

The card shows a score only when AI Scoring is set up for that object. See AI Scoring.

Add Magic Snap#

Magic Snap is most useful on a phone. A common setup:

  1. Go to Setup → Tabs. Under Lightning Component Tabs, click New, select the Magic Snap component, enter a tab label and choose a tab style. Save. (Alternatively, create an app page in App Builder and add Magic Snap to it.)
  2. Add the tab to your Lightning app's navigation in Setup → App Manager.
  3. To use it in the Salesforce mobile app, enter Salesforce Navigation in the Setup Quick Find box and move the tab into the Selected list.

Magic Snap creates records as the user, so users also need permission to create Leads, or Accounts and Contacts.

Checklist#

  • Activate the page for every app, record type and profile your users work with, not only the one you tested. A component missing for one record type is the most common reason users say "I don't have AI Engine".
  • Users need the AI Engine User permission set, plus access to your AI provider credential, to use the chat, the AI Score card and Magic Snap. The Activity Monitor needs AI Engine Admin. See Assign permission sets.
  • After changing a page, users may need to reload the browser to see the new component.
Still stuck? Ask AI, or email contact@cloudconnected.pl with the exact error message, the page or action you used and roughly when it happened.
