AI Engine is delivered as a managed package with the namespace CloudConnected. This article covers the installation itself; configuration follows in the Quick start.
Before you start#
- Read Requirements.
- Get the installation link from Cloud Connected.
- Decide which org you are installing into. We recommend a sandbox first, then production once you have tested with real users. Settings do not travel with a change set; see Move your configuration from a sandbox to production.
Install#
- Log in to the target org as a System Administrator.
- Open the installation link. For a sandbox, replace
login.salesforce.comin the link withtest.salesforce.com. Check the org name on the install screen before you continue. - Select Install for Admins Only. You will give users access with permission sets afterwards, which is easier to control than profile-based access.
- Click Install and wait for the confirmation. Salesforce may finish the installation in the background and send you an email when it is done.
- Confirm the result in Setup → Installed Packages: AI Engine is listed with the namespace
CloudConnected.
What gets installed#
- Lightning components: the Sales Agent chat (
salesagent), the AI Score card (aiScoreCard), Magic Snap (magicSnap), the Activity Monitor (aiActivityMonitor) and the admin panel (aiagentadmin). - The Ai Agent Admin Setup tab, which holds the whole configuration: Agent Objects, Org Profile, Prompt Templates, AI Scoring, License, Activity Monitor, PDF Settings, PDF Templates and Help & Setup.
- Custom objects for configuration, prompt templates, PDF templates, scoring configuration and the AI Activity Log.
- Four fields on Lead and four on Opportunity:
AI_Score__c,AI_Score_Label__c,AI_Score_Reason__c,AI_Score_Date__c. - Two permission sets: AI Engine Admin (
AI_Engine_Admin) and AI Engine User (AI_Engine_User).
The package does not include an AI provider key, a Named Credential or any sample data. You create the credential yourself so that the key stays in your org.
After installing#
Users cannot use AI Engine until you finish setup. Continue with the Quick start, which lists every step in order:
- Assign permission sets.
- Connect your AI provider.
- Configure the Org Profile and Agent Objects.
- Add components to pages.
- Run a first test.
Good to know#
- The 5-day trial does not start at installation. It starts the first time someone uses an AI feature, for example a chat question or a record action. The License tab in Ai Agent Admin Setup shows the days remaining and how many users count toward the limit.
- Installing does not add AI Engine components to any page layout or Lightning app. You place them yourself in Lightning App Builder.
- Upgrades are installed the same way, from a newer installation link. Your configuration and data stay in place.
