The Activity Digest is a quick overview of what changed in Salesforce over a period, across several objects at once. Use it at the start of the day or week, or after time away.
Get a digest#
Ask a general "what happened" question without naming an object, for example:
- "What happened this week?"
- "What is new this month?"
- "What happened yesterday?"
- "What changed in the last 14 days?"
You can ask in any language the chat understands.
The agent returns a written summary and one section per object. For each object you see:
- A new badge with the number of records created in the period, and an updated badge with the number of existing records changed in the period.
- The most recent records, up to 10, each marked NEW or UPDATED, with a few key fields. Click a record name to open it. When more records changed than are listed, a showing N badge appears next to the counts.
- A Show all ↗ button. It asks the chat for every record of that object created or modified in the period, as a table.
The first two sections open expanded. Click an object's header to expand or collapse its section. Objects with no changes in the period are listed together on a No activity: line at the end.
Supported periods#
| Period | Example question |
|---|---|
| Today, yesterday | "What happened today?" |
| This week, last week | "What happened last week?" |
| This month, last month | "What is new this month?" |
| This quarter, last quarter | "What changed last quarter?" |
| This year, last year | "What happened this year?" |
| The last N days | "What happened in the last 30 days?" |
If the AI cannot turn your wording into one of these periods, the digest covers this week.
Which objects are included#
The digest covers up to six objects. Your admin chooses which objects take part and in which order, with the Include in Activity Digest and Digest order settings in Agent Objects. Every active object takes part unless the admin leaves it out. It only includes objects and records you can see.
Good to know#
- A question that names an object, such as "new leads this week", runs a normal query instead of a digest. Use that when you only care about one object.
- "Updated" means the record was changed in the period by anyone, not only by you. To see only your own records, ask a question about one object, for example "my opportunities changed this week".
Troubleshooting#
- An object is missing from the digest: your admin has excluded it from the digest, it is not active for AI Engine, you do not have access to it, or it is beyond the first six objects. See Agent Objects.
- The answer says no objects are configured for the digest: no object is set up for the digest. Ask your admin.
