AI Engine Help Center

Requirements

What your Salesforce org, your AI provider account and your users need before you install and set up AI Engine.

Check these before you install AI Engine. Most of them are standard in current Salesforce orgs.

Salesforce org#

Requirement Why AI Engine needs it
An edition that can install managed packages containing Apex, custom objects and Lightning Web Components (for example Enterprise, Unlimited or Developer Edition) AI Engine is a managed package built on Apex and Lightning Web Components.
Lightning Experience All AI Engine screens are Lightning components. Salesforce Classic is not supported.
Named Credentials with External Credentials AI Engine calls your AI provider through a Named Credential. The API key is stored in an External Credential, not in the package.
Outbound access from Salesforce to your provider's endpoint Requests go from Salesforce to api.openai.com, api.anthropic.com or your Azure OpenAI resource, through the Named Credential you create. No Remote Site Setting is needed.
Salesforce Files Saved PDFs and Magic Snap photos are stored as Files on the record.
Outbound email enabled (Setup → Deliverability → Access level: All email) Send Email sends through Salesforce from the user's address. New sandboxes are set to System email only, which blocks it.

If you are not sure your edition qualifies, contact Cloud Connected before you install.

AI provider account#

You need your own account and API key with one of:

  • OpenAI
  • Anthropic
  • Azure OpenAI (a deployment in your own Azure subscription)

Cloud Connected does not supply keys, and setup does not require you to share yours with Cloud Connected. Your provider bills you directly for usage. See Supported providers and models.

If you choose Azure OpenAI and want the features that search the web (for example Web Check and Company News), you also need an OpenAI key, in a Named Credential named exactly OpenAI. See Connect your AI provider.

People#

  • A System Administrator to install the package, create the credentials and assign permission sets.
  • For AI Scoring: if you set a comparison object in the scoring configuration, scoring compares each record with your won and lost history. That works best in an org that already has closed Leads or Opportunities.

Browsers and devices#

  • Any browser supported by Salesforce Lightning Experience.
  • Voice input in the chat uses the browser's speech recognition, which works in browsers such as Chrome and Edge.
  • Magic Snap can be used on phones in the Salesforce mobile app when an admin creates a Lightning component tab for it and adds the tab to the mobile navigation.

Good to know#

  • AI Engine uses standard Salesforce limits. For example, Salesforce allows only a limited number of long-running requests per org at the same time, which matters when many users run AI actions at once. See Limits.
  • A sandbox is the recommended place for your first installation. See Install the package.
Still stuck? Ask AI, or email contact@cloudconnected.pl with the exact error message, the page or action you used and roughly when it happened.
